Munda Biddi Trail

The First Long Distance Off-Road Cycling Trail In Western Australia

Welcome to our Munda Biddi Trail page

The Munda Biddi off- road trail is fast becoming recognised around the world as Western Australia`s world-class off-road cycling experience. There are not many places in the world where a 900-kilometre cycle track could be built through a semi-undeveloped natural corridor. With Western Australia's vast areas of forests and bushland, gentle terrain, and year-round cycling weather, this gives any cycling entusas an ideal setting for an off-road cycle experiance.

The Munda Biddi is a trail with something for everyone. There are sections of trail that will suit anyone's cycling ability and pace. The trail is easily accessible by car, so you can begin your journey wherever it is convenient. Different sections of the trail will be suitable for cyclists of all levels, with challenging loops and spurs to be added once the main trail is completed. And because the trail is completely off-road, you can enjoy the scenery while you safely cycle through the forest on the dirt track.

Imagine cycling through towering eucalyptus forests and unspoiled bushland. Discover plants and wildlife not found anywhere else in the world. Camp in shelters or stay in quaint country towns. Learn about Aboriginal culture ( Munda biddi means path through the forest) and the rich heritage of the region as you visit wineries and attractions of the South West corner of Western Australia.

The Munda Biddi Trail was designed for all mountain bike enthusiasts and recreational cyclists who are seeking a safe and enjoyable bush cycling experience.Starting in Sculpture Park, Mundaring, the trail uses a network of bush tracks and old railway lines from the days of logging to link cyclists with the many charming towns of the Southwest region there`s also plenty of forest attractions including the towns off Jarrahdale, Dwellingup, Logue Brook Dam, Collie and even old P.O.W camps like Balmoral. Each section of the trail is differant from the ever changing landscape to the vegatation that is unique to this part of the world even the rare Red-Tailed cockotoos are an amazing sight.

The first stage Mundaring to Collie (332kms ) is complete and the next stage is continuing Second stage Collie to Northcliffe the full lenght of the Cycle Trail will be 900 Kms all the way to Albany on the South coast.

The Munda Biddi Trail should not be taken for granted, preparation and care must be taken on all trips on the Munda Biddi trail. Make you sure you visit the Munda Biddi website to get all the information you need and always tell someone where you are going. Remember above all else, Think Safe - Be Safe"

Munda Biddi Mountain Bike tours

1-Day Munda Biddi Mountain Bike Tour  From Glen Eagles picnic area to Jarradale Cost $125 all inclusive

Once on board our bus we leave Perth City behind for Glen Eagle Pinic Area, where we prepare for the mornings ride along the famous Mudda Biddi Trail. You will be provided with a current 2004 model Mountain Bike, along with safety helmet, water, snacks and a safety briefing for the mornings ride along the Munda Biddi Trail.
With your Western Australian Tour Guide we set out riding through magnificant Gum Trees and unique Australian Flora. The trail utilises old logging railway lines which provides for easy cycling. Our first stop will be the former Balmoral POW Camp. There we will take a break and enjoy a light morning tea, surrounded by the Australian Bush. This area is full of Early Pioneering, Logging and War Time History. Having relaxed and explored the area we continue to ride the last section of the Muda Biddi Trail to the Historical Townsite of Jarrahdale. Encounters with Red Tipped, Black Cockatoos and Lizards are not uncommon along this section of the trail.

Upon arrival at the Jarrahdale Hotel we will park the bikes up for the day where you can go inside for a cold drink from the bar. Whilst talking to new friends about the mornings ride we will all sit down and enjoy a Cafe Lunch. We then go for a refreshing Swim at Serpintine Falls before making our way to the Swan Valley for the rest of the afternoon. Once in the Swan Valley we will sample some of the World Famous attractions it has to offer. Places like the Margaret River Chocolate Company, Local Wineries and Boutique Breweries.
